Therapy and mental health resources available for children, adolescents, and adults

Offerings

  • Children & Adolescents

I specialize in supporting children and adolescents through the unique challenges of growing up, especially for expat families and third culture kids. Whether your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, academic stress, friendship difficulties, or adjusting to frequent moves and relocation, I create a warm and safe environment where they can express themselves freely. We'll work together on emotional regulation, coping skills, self-esteem, and navigating parent-child relationships, all while honoring their cultural identity and the complexities of cross-cultural experiences. Your child will feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.

  • Adults

I provide a safe and supportive space for adults navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, and the unique challenges of being Asian American or an expat. Together, we'll work on emotional regulation, boundary setting, self-worth, and managing stress—whether it's burnout, imposter syndrome, grief, or the complexities of family planning and women's health. You don't have to navigate these challenges alone; I'm here to support you in building resilience, finding clarity, and creating meaningful change in your life.

  • Group Therapy

Small groups of 6-10 people, online or in person. Topics covered include: creating and managing friendships, major life transitions specific to age and expectations, and navigating life as an expat or international.

  • Consulting

If you're curious about a career as a therapist or counselor, and want to know, I offer consultation sessions that dive deep into the different avenues to becoming a therapist, career paths, and more.

And if you're interested in working abroad as I am, let's connect! I work with new and seasoned therapists to help provide resources and answers on navigating life as a mental health therapist from the U.S. to the Netherlands.

Welcome to Therapy with Lizzie!

NIP #248658 | LPC #866560

Being an expat myself, I understand the turbulence that comes with relocation, not only the logistics but also the emotional weight. And in my work as an English-speaking, Asian American therapist, I'm mindful of the cultures and backgrounds my clients identify with, as we work together to establish stability and create a sense of belonging.

With children and adolescents (ages 8-14), I create a safe and warm foundation through play therapy, adolescent therapy, and traditional talk therapy. I draw from my experience working in schools, community mental health, and specialized treatment centers.

With adults, I support clients who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. We focus on building emotional awareness, mindfulness and somatics, and learning how to blend emotions with reason to stabilize and work towards goals. Using a person-centered, holistic approach, we'll look at the whole picture with compassion and cultural sensitivity.

Fees

Rates are discussed during our free consultation call. A sliding scale is available upon request, and all services are VAT exempt.

Insurance Coverage

I am not currently affiliated with insurance companies. Paying privately offers you greater flexibility and autonomy in selecting your care, without insurance providers influencing your treatment plan.

Private payment also eliminates the need for a formal mental health diagnosis and removes the requirement to demonstrate medical necessity.
